Introduced in France by Grandes Roseraies du Val de la Loire in 1921 as 'Ethel James'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1922 as 'Ethel James'.

Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Carmine-pink, orange-red shading, yellow center.  Moderate fragrance.  Large, single (4-8 petals), in large clusters bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Short, bushy.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
