Bred by Jean-Baptiste André (fils) Guillot (1827-1893) (France, 1863).
Introduced in Australia by Thomas Lang in 1866 as 'Paul de la Meilleraye'.

Bloom:
Purple, cerise shading.  Very large, full (26-40 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
