Origin:
Bred by Jean-Pierre Vibert (France, 1845).
Introduced in Australia by Northampton Nurseries in 1861 as 'Perle des Panachées'.
Class:
Gallica / Provins.  
Bloom:
White, purple streaks, stripes, flecks, pink stripes.  Strong fragrance.  Medium, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, expanded , flat bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, upright.  Medium green foliage.  

Height: 30" to 4' (75 to 120cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 8b.  Vigorous.
