Summer 2018, England,... during 'hot, hot and more hot'... the like of which I've never known in this country.... scary, for England to be honest... and I don't want to experience it, ever again.. A charming rose, which I'm sure will get better with time...

This is turning into a very pretty rambler, continuously producing clusters of blooms, thorn free and not a hint of disease.... right up my street...[for non English speakers means ''I like it a lot''..]

'Vanessa Bell' in pot, first season... England, East Anglia, full sun position, during what was a very hot dry summer [for us]… it has thrown up a tall cane [barely visible in photo]..

… likely to become rather large in time, and probably best on a fence where it can be trained with support...

A rose to brighten up a shady spot. It is not at its best in full, hot sun, or rain... some shade, a cloudy overcast dry day, and this rose will show up well... lemony scented, producing canes with clusters of buds like a floribunda, continuously in bloom and always producing more, with moisture at the roots... the blooms fade to white rather quickly.. I have 2, the one in the pot has thrown up a 4 foot cane already..
