Poulsen's Yellow (Poulsen, 1938) is a definite break in colour and very attractive in the bud stage, but the blooms fade to unattractive white. So far its value appears to be as the forerunner and parent of richer and more lasting shades in a class where yellow is so deficient.

Poulsen's Yellow, Hyb. Poly. (Poulsen).-Yellow Polyanthas are all too scarce, but this looks like helping to fll the gap. The colour is a fairly deep golden yellow which, although it does fade to nearly white eventually, helds well. The growth promises to be perfectly hardy. The blooms, which are borne in clusters, are of the large type of Polyantha, more like Ellen Poulsen.

Poulsen's Yellow (D. T. Poulsen 1938). The breeder presents us with this Hybrid Polyantha an excellent group and bedding rose, which is, with its pure yellow colour hardly found among Polyanthas a tremendously valuable new introduction. Growth is medium tall. Notable is the very healthy foliage, which makes the rose very resistant against diseases. . ...Low garden plants 1 piece RM [Reichsmark] 4.-  10 pieces RM 36.-

New Roses for 1938 by European and Other Raisers
Raisers' Descriptions
Poulsen's Yellow (Hybrid Polyantha) (Poulsen).—The large, semi-double blooms, which are pure buttercup yellow, are carried in clusters. Very floriferous. The habit of growth is very free and branching, while the strong, upright stems are coloured a reddish bronze, and have few thorns. The foliage is very glossy, mildew proof, and shows off the masses of flowers to perfection. "Poulsen's Yellow" is a Rose that combines all the attractive qualities of the Poulsen "family" of Hybrid Polyanthas, as well as providing a new break in colour, which was so badly needed.
