Bred by Joseph Sauvageot (France, before 1930).
Introduced in France by Grandes Roseraies du Val de la Loire in 1932 as 'Dance of Joy'.

Bloom:
Scarlet - crimson, darker highlights.  Moderate fragrance.  Medium, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, in large clusters bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Short, armed with thorns / prickles.  Glossy, dark green foliage.  

Height: 20" to 2' (50 to 60cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Vigorous.
