Origin:
Bred by Vince & Sylvia Denny (United Kingdom, 1988).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Denny's Clematis Nursery in 1988 as 'Broughton Star'.
Class:
Early Small Flowered, Group 1, Montana Group.  
Bloom:
Pink.  4 petals.  Average diameter 2.5".  Semi-double to double bloom form.  Late spring to early summer.  
Habit:

Height: up to 20' (up to 610cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 7b through 9b.  For best color plant in a sunny position.  Plant in soil that drains well.  Plant in sun or partial shade.  No pruning required.  Shape or tidy up the plant AFTER flowering is finished.  It blooms on the previous year's growth, so resist the urge to prune it in early spring.
