Bred by Desfossé-Thuillier et Fils (France, 1880).
Class:
Large-flowered, Late.  
Bloom:
Blue, purple center, purple stamens.  6 to 8 petals.  Average diameter 9".  Single bloom form.  Late spring, early summer, midsummer.  
Habit:

Height: 4' to 6' (120 to 185cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Plant in sun or partial shade.  sheltered.  Suitable for growing in a container.  It blooms on the previous year's growth, so resist the urge to prune it in early spring.
