Discovered by Unknown (before 1623).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Peveril Clematis Nursery in 1981 as 'Flore Pleno'.
Class:
Group 3, Late, Small-flowered, Viticella Group.  
Bloom:
Violet.  Average diameter 2".  Small, double bloom form.  Early summer to early autumn.  
Habit:

Height: 10' to 13' (305 to 395cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 3b through 9b.  Plant in sun or partial shade.  In early spring, cut back to just above the lowest set of healthy buds.
