is it ok to cut the dead flowers off of the bush?

Deadheading is something you do all season to encourage new blooms, so the answer is "yes" except... when you stop deadheading as the roses move into dormancy.

Definitely if you want more flowers. You should always cut the spent blooms back to the first leaves with 3 leaves on them.

i have found alot of conflicting information on climbing Q .E .some sites say it blooms all season and others say its a once blooming rose , dose anyone know which it is ? thanks kathy

My aunt insists that this rose can be found in white (southern california)...can anyone advise if this is true and if so where I can locate it?

There is a "White Queen Elizabeth" rose. Suggest you look in the rose lists in Help Me Find to find the most covenient supplier.

Your Aunt is correct!!! There is a White Queen Liz. It is hard to find, but Regan's Roses in Fremont, CA might carry it. Just for the record, ICEBERG, 1958 is a great white rose that can also grow tall and willowy. --K haas of Silicon Valley
