August 27, 2022. Six year old own-root from David Austin Roses USA. The stray single flower I tend to get after spring. Heat stress is apparent, but still wondrously scented as always. Essentially once blooming, but there's nothing wrong with that at all when you have garden space and some appreciation. Z5b/Sunset 41 South Central Michigan

I love that she's hardy enough to survive my winters and build good size. HT worshippers and exhibitors can keep their delicate "California girls". Z5b/Sunset 41 South Central Michigan

February 15, 2023. Seven years old this spring. Own root David Austin Roses USA specimen. One older section of cane has clearly died back and is black, the rest await the first serious trim since planting. I want her to build size, and she's right around 5' currently. Decently hardy so far. Extremely prickly. Worthy of placement in cooler climates. Z5b/Sunset 41 South Central Michigan

June 10, 2022. Six year old own-root plant from David Austin Roses USA. Extremely prickly. Will get black spot. Intense, rich, delicious old rose fragrance that is expected in roses of this type. Essentially once blooming. Throws a stray flower or has light scattered rebloom at best. Now mostly established and into maturity, she grows in the five to six foot range. I tend to only tip prune because I want her to have size, but in thinking a cut-back and rejuvenation/branch induction may be on order. Z5b/Sunset 41 South Central Michigan
