Madame Alfred Carriere (Hybrid Noisette)... Pure white. Very free. A good pillar Rose. Introduced 1879.

Mme. Alfred Carriere. Semi-double, ivory white, with faint rose tint, faint tea scent. Pistil 1/4 in. separated, bud tinged pink, before opening. Pedicel glandular, hip smooth. Calyx twice as long, leafy points, four narrow wings. Leaf pale green, tea-like, petiole thorny, stipules very narrow, gland edged. Introduced by Schwarz in 1879.

So much do we think of the Good Old Roses, growing more popular each year in spite of their antiquity, that we list them here by themselves.  Many of these are no longer in commerce but, recognizing their merits as well as their rich associations, we grow more of them each year.  We love and respect them.
