William Allen Richardson Ducher, 1878. Noisette. Sport of 'Rêve d'Or'. [Author cites information from many different sources, including the following that appeared in the Royal National Rose Society's Rose Annual, and was written by a nephew of W.A. Richardson: William Allen Richardson was born in New Orleans, La., on Feb. 20, 1819. When he was but two years old his father moved to Lexington, Ky., where he resided until his death, in October, 1892... much interested in the cultivation and porpagation of Roses. He imported a good many, and in this way became acquainted by correspondence with Madame Ducher.]
