Owned by Thomas Cornelius Cole (1810-1889) who issued the nursery’s first catalogue in 1850.
In 1862 Cole leased this nursery to his son, John Charles Cole (1838-1891)
In 1864 Cole leased another property to another son Henry Ingerford Cole (1843-1904) who established the Shorland orchard and Nursery.
George Cole (1822-1868) was the brother of T. C. Cole (1810-1889),
George’s son, George Graham Cole (1855-1946) established the Fernbank Nurseries at Tyabb in 1884.
