Chaplin Brothers, The Royal Nurseries, Waltham Cross.
The history of the Royal Nurseries dates back over a century and was made famous by the great Rosarian William Paul, who not only introduced many famous Roses, but also wrote a large number of books on the cultivation of our national flower. In 1922 the business was taken over by Chaplin Brothers Ltd. who continued to uphold the high standards set by William Paul, and also introduced a number of popular Roses of today. The present owner, Mr J. E. A. Pike, who is continuing to trade as Chaplin Brothers, started his career as a junior in the firm of William Paul and later became Secretary and Director of Chaplin Brothers Ltd......
