Nursery established 1823 by Johann Christoph Schmidt (1803-1868). Succeeded by his son
Heinrich Schmidt (1841 - December 26, 1890 Santa Cruz de Tenerifa). Father and son did not breed roses.
Nursery was acquired by Benary in 1926.
