Probably two different firms: C Gregory & Son were based at Chilwell, Notts Gregory Roses are based at Spalding and are still going today.

Confusing. According to the obituary of Charles Walter Gregory in the "Gardeners Chronicle" the firm C. Gregory and Son was in Stapleford. The "Rose Annual" of 1981 says he lived in Chilwell, which is just 2,5 miles from Stapleford. The same two locations mentioned on "Modern Roses" and by Krüssmann resp. (Possibly Chillwell until 1968 and Stapleford from 1969). Now we have Colin Gregory Roses Ltd / C. Gregory Roses Ltd. in Spalding, Lincolnshire. I understand from your comment that Colin Gregory is no relation to Charles Walter Gregory, is that so? Probably our rose listing belongs to the Colin Gregory Roses Ltd., while the introductions are from the earlier C. Gregory & Sons.

C Gregory & Son was founded in 1897 by Charles Gregory (1867-1940) and was later run by his son, Charles Walter Gregory (1908 -80). The firm is now dissolved.
