Established ca. 1897 by John Molton (see Breeders).

[From The American Florist, April 15, 1905, Vol. 24, p. 596:] The Minneapolis Floral Company has its main range filled with Harrisii and they are looking their best, and John Monson, proprietor, reports the greater part sold.

[From The American Florist, March 31, 1906, Vol. 26, p. 437:] Mr. Monson's range of glass now contains about 120,000 square feet, and is the largest in his section, and he is contemplating adding aljout 35,000 feet more this coming season. It is a modern establishment and speaks very well for the push and energy of the man behind it.

[From The American Florist, July 7, 1906, Vol. 26, p. 1110:] John Monson, of the Minneapolis Floral Co., is making quite an important addition to his already splendid establishment. He is building a new boiler house with a new and up-to-date stable attached. There are to be three boilers each 18x72 ft., and the cost when completed will be $16,000. There is also in process of construction a new range of greenhouses to contain 35,000 ft. of glass, and when finished the establishment will be under about 200,000 ft. of glass.
