I love this rose! HMF lists the hardiness zone as 7b, the Antique Rose Emporium and Chamblee list the zone as 6, Countryside and Rogue as 7 and Hortico as a 5 (this is the nursery closest to my home and has a comparable climate). Anyone have any experience/opinion as to how it will do in zone 6? I would like to plant it against a wall that has a southern exposure. If it won't do well in zone 6, any suggestions for an alternative?

This rose and Alister Stella Grey are the two roses I hope to grow up my front porch posts and rails, but would like to know how the thorns are on it before placing it so close to pedestrian traffic. I still am getting this rose, but have a long length of new fence going in that can accomodate it if its too thorny for heavy traffic areas.

'Celine Forestier' has prickles here but fewer than 'Alister Stella Gray'.

Fragile but long canes and mod. vigorous. Very few but exceptional blooms in a sheltered semi-shady site in Zone 7. Blooms are a most delicate pale yellow and multi-petalled with an exceptional fragrance
