Bred by André Delbard-Chabert (1915-2012) (France, before 1966).
Introduced in France by Delbard/Georges Delbard SA in 1966 as 'Altissimo'.

Introduced by Unknown (Australia) in 1971 as 'Altissimo'.

Bloom:

Red. Mild, clove fragrance. 5 to 7 petals. Average diameter 5". Very large, single (4-8 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, cupped-to-flat bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Habit:

Tall, climbing. Glossy, dark green foliage.

Height: 7' to 15' (215 to 455cm). Width: 8' (245cm).
