N. P. Harvey. Pink Roses. Among the Climbers and Ramblers there are several excellent pink Roses of attractive colouring and others that, to me, are hard and unsatisfying. The 'Dorothy Perkins' group contains some of these less pleasing sorts, but a newcomer, 'Blushing Lucy' should be tried. This Rose blooms rather late, has semi-double blooms of pale pink with a white eye, borne in very large trusses and is of vigorous growth with a delightful fragrance, but fortunately less rampant than most wichuraianas. In its second year with me, after very late planting in 1940, it has given a good account of itself, growing slowly but surely.

(Wichuraiana) [a] wonderful and unique rambler. It is both repeat flowering and very fragrant. To my knowledge it is the only such rambler. .. For years I have tried to import this rose and David Austin has always been sold out. I finally succeeded and we can now offer it to you. Sally Allison, of New Zealand, in her book "Climbing and Rambling Roses" calls 'Blushing Lucy' "A very fragrant and enchanting climber." Its semi-double, blush pink blooms are accented by a white eye and are produced in large clusters. A vigorous Rambler with glossy, mid-green foliage that provides a perfect backdrop for its blushing pink blooms. Very strongly fragrant. Profuse and repeat blooming. 10-12 ft. Outstanding. (1938)
