The rose 'Lí Burés' 
Pere Dot, once he decided to start his professionalization in the world of creating new roses, received financial help from Mrs. Eulàlia Regordosa, called “Doña Lí”. Eulàlia Regordosa came from a very important family of industrialists from Manresa, with textile industries in Castellbell and Vilar, located on land bought from the Marquis of Castellbell and also in Anglès. She was the daughter of Mariano Regordosa and Concepción Soldevila....Eulàlia had married the textile industrialist Francesc Burés. Their factories and businesses provided them with an enormous fortune that allowed them, between 1900 and 1905, to build a house in Barcelona’s Eixample, between Ausiàs March and Girona streets, Casa Burés. It is a unique modernist building, designed by Francesc Berenguer, a collaborator of Antoni Gaudí....The acquaintance of "Doña Lí" with Pere Dot would come via Oleguer Junyent. It is supposed that Pere and Oleguer met while the Universal Exhibition of Barcelona was being organized, which took place in 1929, in which Oleguer participated as an adviser and collaborator of Francesc Cambó with whom he joined a great friendship. Pere had also met the set designer on several stays on the island of Mallorca. The financial aid of "Doña Lí" was used to buy the Finca de Sol i Vent and start the business. Pere managed to repay the entire loan almost a year later.....Both Pere Dot and Carles Fargas had visited “Doña Lí” in Castellbell i el Vilar, in the so-called Torre Burés. Carles Fargas took photos of the rose garden that Eulàlia had in this estate...Pere Dot's visit was also included in the 1933 yearbook of the American Roses Societies with some photos where Pere pulls his head out from behind the vase accompanied by his wife, his son Simó and the French rose grower Mallerin and his wife.

Li Burés is a hybrid tea of 1927, obtained by Pere Dot by crossing Chateau de Clos Vougeot and Souvenir de Claudius Pernet. Of such parents, one would not expect another result as to colouring, intense and variable. Friera describes it thus:
Medium size bloom, only semi-double, ochre-yellow undertones washed with pink and red, very fragrant. Vigorous plant with very ...and glossy foliage, perfumed. ...
...Received a Certificate of Merit at Bagatelle (1929). In 1928 achieved a Certificate of the National Horticultural Society of France and in 1930 a new Certificate in the International Competition of Haywards Heath....has much more resistance to fungi than other Dot roses...
...Eulàlia Regordosa, or Li Burés...was married to a member of the Burés family...textile industrialists originating in the region of Bages.
