Bred by Hermann Kiese (Germany, 1899).
Introduced in Germany by Johann Christoph Schmidt / Blumenschmidt as 'Leuchtstern'.
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1904 as 'Leuchtstern'.

Climber, Hybrid Multiflora, Polyantha, Cl., Rambler.  
Bloom:
Deep pink, white center.  Mild fragrance.  Average diameter 2".  Medium, single (4-8 petals), in large clusters bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Climbing.  Medium, dark green foliage.  
Height of up to 10' (up to 305 cm).  Width of up to 8' (up to 245 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Hardy.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to Mildew.
