Le Groupe den Pernetiana, dans lequel se trouvent, la plupart des roses nouvelles, est celui qui donne les moins bons résultats. Les plants redoutent la chaleur et poussent très mal ou disparaissent après un ou deux ans de plantation. Les suivantes sont tout de même à conseiller : — Mme Edouard Herriot, rose corail.

Is unfortunately liable to black spot. Pernet-Ducher 1913...Vigorous. Slightly fragrant...June-Sept. Hardy.

Harry H. Hazlewood.  Some Stories Behind Rose Names.
In 1913 the "Daily Mail," of London, offered a prize for the best seedling Rose of the year, with the stipulation it must be called Daily Mail. Pernet's agent exhibited Madame Edouard Herriot atthe show, and the judges unanimously awarded it the prize. When the position was explained to J. Pernet he refused the prize, as he would not insult the wife of his friend by withdrawing her name from the Rose. Not to be outdone in gallantry, the newspaper eventually awarded him the prize.

Gillot 1933, nouveauté de Rugosa, très rustique à beau feuillage et à fleur rouge se succédant toute l’année ; Reine des Neiges, hybride remontant, toujours appréciée par sa vigueur et ses belles fleurs blanches.
