Bred by Claude Ducher (1820-1874) (France, 1866).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1873 as 'Antoine Ducher'.

Red.  Strong fragrance.  Large, full (26-40 petals), cupped, globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Armed with thorns / prickles.
