Bred by Jacques-Julien Margottin père (1817-1892) (France, 1863).
Introduced in Australia by Charles Wyatt, Frogmore Nursery in 1868 as 'Charles Margottin'.

Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Carmine-red, red center.  Moderate fragrance.  Average diameter 3".  Very large, full (26-40 petals), cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Bushy, upright.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Vigorous.
