Bred by Moreau-Robert (France, 1889).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1897 as 'Madame Carnot'.
Class:
Noisette.

Golden-yellow, orange center, copper edges.  Strong fragrance.  Medium to large, very double, cluster-flowered, globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Climbing.

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Vigorous.

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
The rose in commerce in the U.S. (and Europe?) as Madame Carnot' is probably 'Madame Cunisset-Carnot', which see. It is a pink HT and doesn't climb, so it definitely is neither of the roses introduced as 'Madame Carnot'. 'Madame Sadi Carnot' is also a climber.
