Origin:
Bred by Wilhelm J.H. Kordes II (1891-1976) (Germany, 1952).
Class:
Hybrid Gallica.  
Bloom:
Scarlet, golden-yellow , stamens.  Warm scarlet blooms with yellow stamens.  None to mild fragrance.  Average diameter 5".  Large, single (4-8 petals), cluster-flowered, in small clusters, flat bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Tall, arching, bushy, spreading, upright.  Matte, dense foliage.  

Height: 4'11" to 6'7" (150 to 200cm).  Width: 6' to 7' (185 to 215cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Can be used for garden, hedge, landscape, pillar or shrub.  Can be trained as a climber.  produces decorative hips.  rain tolerant.  shade tolerant.  Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood..  Prune after flowering is finished.
