Bred by Karl Müller-Almrich (Germany, 1927).

Bloom:
White, pink center.  Very large, double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Large buds.  
Habit:
Light green foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Vigorous.

Notes:
Sangerhausen describes the color of the bloom of Turnvater Jahn as white with pink.
Turnvater (Gym-Father) Jahn was Friedrich Ludwig Jahn (1778-1852), German nationalist who created in 1811 the movement of "German Gymnastics", as an anti-napoleonic drive.
