The color strength, bloom size, and one of the references makes me highly doubt the China parent. It looks like the one reference says, a Pernetiana hybrid.
Oh, and the given ploidy also makes the water muddy on this one, too.
Very confusing.

Mrs. Emily Gray is said to be the best yellow-flowered form of the wichuraiana type that has been developed. Desirable for breeding."

I own the mother , 'Jersey Beauty' which grows like a weed here, and I have installed the father in clients' gardens where it thrived.....this one arrives from a small California grower in January and I fully expect it will grow like crazy here. Lovely color! John
