... one of the most justifiably admired white roses. Pink-tinted buds open to... pure white flowers... some believe this rose is really a hybrid tea, but it is correctly classified as a hybrid perpetual... recurrent... loves dry climates. Pegging down the long shoots will encourage profuse flowering on the side stems. Pruning should be minimal.

[Author cites information from different sources. The Journal des Roses says, "Karl Druschki, businessman [in] Gorlitz."]
... For a long time, rose growers have sought to develop a rose which was both remontant and completely white. Such a desirable variety has at last made its appearance... long, strong stems... snow white... [the blooms are] of large size and beautiful form... Now and then there is a flower with a faint violet perfume... liable to mildew...

Hybrid Perpetual Roses
Frau Karl Druschki, Snow Queen (1901)
Named for the wife of the then President of the German Rose Society, the queen of white roses has long been a favorite of rose growers. The bud shows a splash of dark pink but the bloom is snow white. But, alas, it is scentless. However, undaunted, this rose with its large, double, high centered bloom is a crowd pleaser. Let it grow big; peg the long canes down for a spectacular show. Foliage is light green.
