An unusual characteristic of 'Mrs. Fred Danks' is how the very edge of the petal margins suddenly become lighter in colour, almost white. The flower colour in this photo has not been captured quite accurately - the opening flowers are quite bright, but a bit too vivid here. 6 Oct 2019.

May 2017. Mrs. Fred Danks (with Safrano peeping out from behind). A truly wonderful fragrance.

A couple of buds showing the typical elongated shape of the receptacles. The new foliage is quite a bright light green. It doesn't really show red tints typical of other HTs. 6 Oct 2019.

A 20 year old 'Mrs. Fred Danks', somewhat neglected. It makes a tall upright bush, sending out a few long canes. This bush is approximately ten feet high. 6 Oct 2019 (spring), Sydney, Australia.
