Rosa maxima, or Princesse Caroline ist the largest Hundred-leaved rose, and truly wonderfully formed. The special size of the rose, the vivid colour, the strong, large, rounded petals, the amount of purple-red buds, the strong, vivid green foliage impress and catch the eyes. This magnificent rose variety bloomed in the garden of Falke. The same has also the pleasantness, that 5-6 small, 2 inch long feathery split leaves stand out on the bud and the expanded Bloom, thus increasing its beauty. The leaves are more sea-green.
This variety distinguishes itself from the so-called Thousand-leaved by its more vivid colour, through the form of its calyx, and by the form and purple-red colour of its buds.
