Bred by Pierre Perny (France, 1885).
Introduced in France by Scipion Cochet in 1895 as 'Grand-Duc Pierre de Russie'.
Introduced in Australia by Heyne's Nurseries Pty. Ltd. in 1900 as 'Grand-Duc Pierre de Russie'.

Tea.  
Bloom:
Light pink, red veining.  Very large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Long buds.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles.  Dark green foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
