Our coloured engraving in this number shows one of the many pretty roses sold by the firm of PH. Nabonnand and son, at Golf Juan. A seedling of the tea Mme Lambard, the variety which concerns us (here) was put into commerce on 1st November 1892, and, since this time, it has always been much sought after, and rightly so, by lovers of Tea roses with coppery red flowers.
The plant is very vigorous and flowers abundantly, especially towards autumn; the rather heavy wood is red-brown, with strong hooked prickles coming from it. The ashy grey green foliage gives the plant an original and special appearance. The flower is very large, full, generally cup-shaped and of perfect manners; its bluish pink colour, with bright copper centre, is maintained right up to the time all the petals fall, without being bothered by bad weather.
We cannot recommend enough this beautiful pink rose which possesses all the qualities to be included in the best collections.
Pierre, Du Pluoy.
