Book  (1972)

p23. E. F. Allen. Trends in Roses.
Perhaps I should mention the so-called HT-type Floribundas. These are cluster-flowered bedding roses with blooms shaped like small Hybrid Teas......Many of the taller cultivars in this class are termed Grandifloras in the United States but there is no uniformity on this. Arthur Bell seems to me to be a typical member of this group but it has, in fact, been classed as a Floribunda. However, it remains a very fine rose indeed with a wonderful scent.

p59. The Final Analysis 1970-71 Season.
Arthur Bell 6.8 rating. A strong growing yellow with fragrance. No disease reported. The quick fading of the blooms rated it down heavily. Obviously not the yellow floribunda we are still seeking.

....and Arthur Bell, despite its fading, is by its growth and perfume a great yellow.

Another new rose shown by McGredy's was a rich yellow floribunda named Arthur Bell which has been awarded a Certificate of Merit. I believe its parents are 'Clare Grammerstorf' and 'Piccadilly'.
