Information on the "description" page for this rose indicates it cannot be shipped from Canada to U.S. customers, but I think that information is outdated. I ordered this from Palatine, in Canada, and it arrived at my house in Illinois yesterday.

Hi,

There is some conflicting information in the "Love" grandiflora description:

"Strong fragrance"

"...bicolored flowers with no fragrance..."

Mine is not fragrant either. Please kindly check.

Thanks,
Nap

It's not unusual for information about fragrance to conflict. This is just such a case. The patent application says no fragrance while the ARS' Modern Roses describes the fragrance as "rose fragrance." Let's hope other growers of 'Love' will comment. In the interim, HMF will note that opinions differ.

Cass, I grew Love for a long time, and continue to smooch pollen from it at Elizabeth Park. I can attest that it has absolutely no scent here in Connecticut.

I've changed the fragrance to "None" and also noted that "Opinions vary" to account for the ARS description. This rose was registered, and supposedly the ARS information parrots the information submitted on behalf of the registrant.

i purchased love last season from walmart. This rose was among many in my new garden of 34 roses. It is a sight to behold. It has nice size blooms of approx. 4 1/2, i have had no problems with blackspots, it just keeps going. It blooms repeatedly. This was its first winter here in zone 6. It came through with little protection (some mulch). I have had to give it a hard pruning but it looks great. i love this rose so much I purchased another this season to add to my growing garden of 80 roses. It's also great in a vase, last for approx a week. A must have for any garden. When it blooms i will add pics.
