Someone mentioned to me that 'Modern Roses 12' is carrying 'Korfobalt' as the registered name, and Helpmefind also show this as the registered name.

So is 'La Giralda' also the registered name? (It has that R with the little ring around.)

Patricia, these are two different kinds of "registration."

The ARS registered name is 'Korfobalt.' The ARS acts as the International Registration Authority for Roses, or IRAR, under the Plant Code, or International Code of Nomenclature for Cultivated Plants. The ARS recognizes the sales name Cinderella® for this rose, not 'La Giralda,' which is the registered name of a Pedro Dot Hybrid Tea. I will try to track down Kordes's use of La Giralda. Kordes appears to use the name La Giralda® in France and the name Cinderella® in the UK and USA.

The name La Giralda® has the ® registered service mark character, which is very much like a trademark, only instead of unique products, it applies to unique services. It confers on its owner the exclusive right the name and the right to prevent others from using the name for any service that could be confusing. In other words, Kordes purports to own the rose name La Giralda. Service marks and trademarks are under the legal system, not the Plant Code.

The fact that Pedro Dot already named a rose La Giralda is a niggling detail for Kordes if the Dot rose is not extinct.

I grow this rose. It has been very good in my garden. No black spot or rose rust.
An we have had a very bad summer with rain almoust every day. The flowers are not very good in the rain and the flowers don`t smell anything.
But I think it is a good rose.

In responding back to my own question: well, my 2 cinderella fairytale roses are blooming now. This is their 1st year growing in pots. I adore their lush healthy dark green leaves. They look very waxy, shiny, round, and leathery.
I have to bury my nose inside those petals and breathe deeply in order to detect a mild -medium scent reminisce of sweet apple flavoured chewy gum or maybe a shampoo with an apple scent. Well, that's because only 2 flowers are opening at the moment. Can't wait for all the flower-clusters to open up(approx. 6 in a cluster). Maybe then I could detect a much stronger fragrance.
The blooms are very cute, pinkie, tiny, and quartered(sp?). Hence, the name, "Cinderella", which sort of suit the rose itself. I wouldn't use the word "beautiful". They looked so different from all my other roses that I have which are mainly cupped David Austin's. This is my first kordes floribunda rose, although quite thorny, but I'm starting to like it.
