Origin:
Bred by Jules Gravereaux (France, before 1912).
Introduced in France by Charles Pierre Marie Cochet-Cochet in 1912 as 'Madame Julien Potin'.
Class:
Hybrid Rugosa.  
Bloom:
Light pink.  Average diameter 4.75".  Large, double (17-25 petals), in small clusters, cupped-to-flat bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, upright.  Glossy, light green, leathery foliage.  5 to 7 leaflets.  

Height: up to 9'10" (up to 300cm).  Width: up to 4' (up to 120cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 3a through 3b.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
May mildew. Possibly an earlier cultivar bred by Dr. Müller. - see References.
