Polyantha Roses
Polyanthas are, perhaps the most truly everblooming of all Roses, being scarcely ever out of flower during the whole growing season... They are especially valuable for massing, edging, and to some extent for mingling with other flowers.
Madame Norbert Levavasseur. (Levavasseur & Sons, 1903.) Small, semi-double flowers of bright purple-crimson with a lighter center, borne in dense clusters on strong, profusely blooming plants.
Well known as “Baby Rambler,” and the variety which made the Polyanthas popular. An old, dependable sort, although it fades badly and is generally superseded by varieties of purer color, although few bloom any better.

Polyanthas.
Baby Mme. Norbert Levavasseur. Dwarf Polyantha. (Levavasseur, 1903.) The first red Baby Rambler sent out, and is of the utmost value by reason of its compact habit and continuous production of rosy crimson flowers.

The commoner sorts are adequately described by the popular name, Baby Rambler - Baby because they are dwarf and Rambler because they are very similar in flower to the old-time multiflora ramblers, of which 'Crimson Rambler' is the best example. This class of Polyanthas cannot pass out of cultivation too soon for me.
