Notes:

Originally described as Rosa rapinii Boiss. & Balansa (1859), this rose is thought to be the wild progenitor of the very double Sulphur rose, Rosa hemisphaerica, which was introduced to Europe from Asia Minor several centuries earlier. The name Rosa rapinii is now considered a synonym of Rosa hemisphaerica Herrm.
