Introduced in United Kingdom by Wheatcroft Brothers Ltd. in 1984 as 'Piccolo'.

Bloom:
Coral-red.  Mild fragrance.  Double (17-25 petals), classic hybrid tea bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Climbing, compact.  

Height: 18" to 2' (45 to 60cm).  Width: up to 20" (up to 50cm).

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

In his column Roses Abroad in the January 1998 issue of the American Rose magazine (pp.16-7), Sean McCann writes: I found the German-bred, coral red Piccolo to be ideal where cut blooms and a low growing bush were needed. A few years ago I planted it as a low hedge, and it was superb.
