I am not sure if "hirtula" or "normalis" are shown.

How hardy is this rose? One Supplier says zone 4, another says zone 6. I am zone 4 and would like to grow this rose.

My understanding of this rose is it is hardy in warm to hot locales, even with coastal influence, but I am unsure of its response to colder climes. I was delighted to see fields of it grown experimentally in Santa Barbara, CA for the flower trade. Alas the consumer was not moved to buy the delightfully bizarre cut-flower hips, and it was replaced with English roses. It is a strong species rose so I suggest you try it and expect to be surprised!
