Bred by Ralph S. Moore (United States, 1987).
Class:
Miniature, Moss.  
Bloom:
Red blend, stripes.  Mild fragrance.  15 petals.  Medium to large, semi-double (9-16 petals), borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered, in small clusters bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Mossed buds.  
Habit:
Medium, armed with thorns / prickles, bushy, compact.  
Growing:
USDA zone 5a through 9b.  Hardy.  vigorous.  requires full sun for best color.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .  Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection).

Notes:
Gwen Powell grows 'Rose Gilardi' in her Los Angeles area garden. She says it's a little delicate for a mini but is a true minature version of the full size moss roses and it blooms consistently.
