Richard Rix. Alba Roses. Belle Amour 1950. Vigorous to 2m, Belle Amour bears clusters of semi-double rich salmon pink flowers with yellow stamens. This rose has uncharacteristic leaves for an Alba and has damask affinities. In my garden it grows vigorously, although shaded by a large lime tree, and appears disease-free. It was found growing on the wall of an old convent at Elboeuf in Normandy.

Belle Amour Alba, (OGR) Light pink. Original name and date unknown; Found at a convent at Elboeuf in the 1940's. May have some relationship to 'Splendens' (Ayr); Flowers soft pink with salmon tones, prominent yellow stamens, semi-dbl.; fragrant (myrrh); height 5-6 ft.
