Veilchenblau (Rambler) ‘Violet Blue’. A vigorous rambler sometimes called the “blue“ rose. It bears large clusters of small semi-double purple-violet flowers with some white in the centre. They are scented and mature to a bluish lilac and fade to a lilac-grey. The colour is better preserved in the shade. A useful plant and would make a splendid companion to a pink rambler or clematis. 1909. T. Shade tolerant.  (S) Up to 15’.
