Bred by Georg Ruf (Germany, before 2008).
Introduced in Germany by Rosenschule Ruf in 2008 as 'Wild Sea'.
Class:
Hybrid Rugosa.  
Bloom:
Deep pink, light yellow stamens.  Strong fragrance.  Semi-double (9-16 petals), cupped, open bloom form.  
Habit:
Bushy.  

Height: 2' to 35" (60 to 90cm).  
Growing:
Can be used for hedge.  Hardy.  produces decorative hips.  Disease susceptibility: blackspot resistant.  
Breeder's notes:
(Werner Ruf):'Wild Sea' has hips with the diameter of a 2 Euro coin [see also the story of the hedge in the notes to Georg Ruf].
