Other known history: Ike Doust once lived in the House. Note Ike Doust Way, near Moonya Lodge. After them, an Italian family? who didn’t garden. The house is now owned by Birte Venske, Optician. Cuttings of this rose were taken in 2003.

This rose was also collected in 2001 from Maureen Scherini - originally from John Wheatley's 'Orange Grove' property in Bridgetown, where the name of 'Elli Knab' had been kept by the family.

Once had thorns on the lower half of the bush. With time, these thorns have fallen off to leave a completely thornless bush. Reddish wood.

Possibly Mme. Abel Chatenay but advice is sought.

Possible identifications yet to be investigated:
Baroness H. Von Geyr 1928
Edith Part 1913
Elizabeth Kitto1904
Grand-Duc Adolphe de Luxembourg 1891
Lady Alice Stanley 1909
May Wettern 1928 sounds similar, but probably not enough petals at 30.
Mme. Leon Pain 1904 is said to have red wood, but hints of salmon,
Lucie Nicolas-Meyer 1922.
President Macia 1934 is said to have red wood, but hints of salmon, copper and gold.

Rejected:
Betty Uprichard 1920. Too copper & salmon, not enough petals, and probably too low.
Elli Knab 1934. A Kordes reference reports that this rose is borne solitary.
Jonkheer J. L. Mock (Mme. Caroline Testout x Mme. Abel Chatenay) 1909. A 1930 and a 1939 reference says this rose is borne solitary.
Lady Alice Stanley1909. Too many petals.
Mrs. E. G. Hill (Mme. Caroline Testout x Liberty) 1905. Too many references call the colour coral
Mrs. Henry Bowles 1921 Too dark, too salmon.
Mrs. Henry Morse (Mme. Abel Chatenay x Lady Pirie') 1919. Although some photos are similar, this rose was not tall enough.
