Once in a while a truly wonderful rose comes along. Ketchup & Mustard has all the makings of a great rose. In our gentle coastal climate the rose has no faults, only extraordinary virtues. These include outstanding color, great substance, very good bud and bloom form, nice plant and foliage, amazing remontancy and disease resistance. I cannot evaluate resistance to blackspot and cold tolerance as these are not issues here. The rose is absolutely stunning as a cut flower. In our clime the blooms can be quite large with some skosh under 4 in. in diameter. A fully opened bloom with its brilliant yellow stamens will amaze and delight you.The rose is an superb garden rose and will shake up the exhibition scene. I give this rose a 9.2 rating for garden and 7.2 for exhibition. This rose represents the very rare circumstance where the desirable characteristics of both of its parents, City of San Francisco and Shockwave, are passed on to the offspring. It will make a fantastic tree rose. I was surprised to find that the rose has light fragrance with a nice spicy quality to it. K & M is a catchy name and aptly describes the rose; however, it is not appropriate for a truly great rose. My gratitude to Bedard, Carruth and Weeks, Inc. for this marvelous gift.

Thanks, Don. I have added the number as the AARS # as a synonym on the rose page.

Smiles,
Lyn
