The more I look at this rose, the more I wonder if its a color sport of Leonie Lamesch.

I rooted this rose from a cutting that I took 5-10 years ago from an old bush growing in the garden of a vacant cottage near my house. The cottage was the last remnant of old houses in what is now a commercial area in my town. It was to be (and was) torn down and replaced with a commercial building and parking lot. I would guess it was built in 1900, give or take 15 years.

The original bush was very old - the main trunk was over 7 inches in diameter.

We are trying to identify this rose - any ideas?

Jackie

The cloest Ive seen it Daybreak, but the more I look at the photos of the plant, without seeing it in person, I'm reminded of my very own Leonie Lamesch. Especially the buds, are like both LL and the hybrids I have of it. They make that really unusual puckering. I wonder if it is either a hybrid or a mutation.

This is LL's sister, but it doesnt quite look like it, even if upright and yellow-ish.
